About us
In 1936, a small group of alumni, friends, and members of the Indiana University community founded the IU Foundation to fulfill a dream of educational opportunity for all. A not-for-profit corporation, IUF is dedicated to maximizing private sector support for IU. State appropriations provide less than a third of IU’s operating budget, so private gifts are vital to keeping an IU education both exceptional and affordable.

It’s not been easy for the class of 2024. Many started IU in fall 2020—their first year characterized by virtual learning, job loss, and sickness. Through it all, we've been inspired by the never-daunted spirit they’ve shown over the last four years. So, congratulations, IU 2024 graduates! We wish you all the success in the world, and we're always glad when you come back to visit. ❤️

Abigail says "a semester abroad has been a long time dream of mine, and I'm excited to say that this scholarship will help me achieve that." ✈🌎 Thank you to all who help make IU students' dreams come true! ❤️ #ThanksToIUdonors Congratulations, Abigail!
This semester I took part in the greatest college weekend in America, IU’s Little 500 bike race. I had a fantastic time training with my teammates and pushing my physical limits on the track. This experience will always be one of my favorite college memories. Along with 5 other riders, I was awarded the 2024 Colloquium for Women of IU Scholarship. A heartfelt thank you to Women's Philanthropy at Indiana University and the donors behind this scholarship; your generosity is so appreciated. Receiving this scholarship was a sweet end to the Little 500 season, assuring me that Little 500 and the Indiana University Student Foundation is about so much more than the bike race itself. A semester abroad has been a long time dream of mine, and I’m excited to say that this scholarship will help me achieve that ✈️🌎👋🏼
